Show Notes

When you're struggling with your mental health, even small things can feel really challenging. But even when you're struggling with your mental health, you may still feel that desire to make progress toward your goals - but the "how" of it can feel overwhelming and just not doable.

In this podcast episode, I break down how to approach your goals into skills, practices, and actions, and then start with implementing the smallest actions to slowly start making progress.

I break down the steps so that you can then apply this strategy to your life, goals, and mental energy so that you can start from your starting point.

Even if you're not struggling and you're just looking for a sustainable way to achieve your goals, the steps in this episode will apply to you too! Self-awareness around how much you're able to handle is going to be key. If you're feeling great and on-point, then you might be able to practice bigger, more challenging daily actions. If you're struggling, you can take smaller, more manageable steps. One isn't better than the other!

And if you're struggling with your mental health, while this technique can help you, there are two important things to keep in mind:

  • If you are struggling with your mental health, it is totally fine to take a break from other goals so that you can instead focus on supporting your mental health. There's no shame in this - taking care of your mental health is important.
  • While this strategy can help you continue to make progress toward your goals, please keep in mind that I am a health coach, not a medical or behavioral health provider or practitioner. It's important that you seek the appropriate help you require to support your overall well-being. If you have access and resources to mental health services, I highly encourage you to leverage those resources to further support yourself.
